On a busy Saturday in November, the GREAT MUSEUMS team began shooting at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. The shoot was timed to coincide with American Music Masters Week, honoring Aretha Franklin and culminating in a concert that paid tribute to the Queen of Soul’s stellar career.
While at the Museum, the GM team also began scouting out some of the Rock world’s most iconic artifacts, like Janis Joplin’s signature psychedelic car (seen here, left). This 1965 Porsche Cabriolet, originally white, was painted with wildly colorful ‘60s-era images.
Janis’ Porsche was installed in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in 2009, the same year she was honored as an American Music Master.
